The weather on the North-Central west coast of Nicaragua is warm year-round. Temperatures range from around the high 80s to low 90s Fahrenheit. The water temperature in this region is stable in the low 80s year round.

In the southern pacific region of Nicaragua, in some times of the year, the water temperature can dip down into the 70s and even into the 60s due to the extreme offshore winds that blow causing upwelling in the water near shore. Sometimes you need a spring suit to surf in March in the Southern region! You won’t find this in our region as it stays warm year-round.

The dry season is typically between January and April. The rainy season is typically between May and October. The most consistent swells typically occur throughout the rainy season, but most times of the year you will find waves. The rainy season doesn’t mean it rains 24/7. More often than not, it is sunny through most of the day, then in mid to late afternoon there will be an hour or two of steady rain and then it clears. Sometimes (late September – October) the rains last longer and into the early evening. The rain can be a refreshing break from the heat and is often welcome! April to July is often considered the best season for sport fishing.
