The typical GreenSurf Tour - Our driver will greet you at the airport, no matter what time it is, and take you to the beach. We’ll monitor your flight. If you had some crazy delays and it is a very late hour, we may take you to our sister facility in Managua to rest, but more often than not, you will just be taken straight to the beach. This is what you came for anyway. Your GreenSurf driver, Jose...a.k.a. BIG JON, will help you out with your bags and make sure that you have plenty of ice-cold refreshments and a snack ready for your ride to the beach. Jose will stop on demand if you need to relieve yourself, so don’t be shy! Once you get to the beach, we’ll show you around a bit, where you will be sleeping, hanging out and surfing.

We have a spot or 2 outback (a short, mellow left reef break and another peak or two) that show up nicely in the right conditions and there are about 6 to 8 other breaks that we can take you to depending on your skill level, wave preference and the current swell and tide conditions. There are spots that offer fun beach break to heavy, barreling beach break, point breaks, river mouths, reef/rock setups and sand/rock bottom combos. Some waves are quite mellow and others can put your heart in your throat. Most of the surf breaks left, but if you want rights, then we’ll take you to where you can get some good rights too. This region of Nicaragua offers waves that roll and reform to the beach suitable for riding fishes, shortboards and even longboards and there could even be waves that you are going to need a mini-gun and a love for charging some long, heavy barrels.

Your typical day is going to be waking up to some banana pancakes, fresh fruit and coffee, all prepared from the freshest local ingredients and by local Nicaraguan chefs. Then we load up and go surfing. Jon Ocanto is your GreenSurf surf and safety guide. You can read about him more on the website. So then we surf until you are surfed out or as long as the conditions allow. We’ll take some snacks and water for a mid-sesh recharge and then come back to the base for some fresh, hot Nica-style lunch (ex. rice/beans/plantains/grilled chicken/salad and juice). You may want to nap in the hammock then, play some pong or take a dip in the pool, but the wind still may be offshore, so if the waves are still firing, then we can surf all day if you can.

Once it is dark we tend to just chill at the house, eat some dinner, watch a surf video and get some rest to do it all over again. If you’re still full of energy, there are a couple towns close-by that can be interesting to walk through and fun to interact a little with the locals. They are very friendly. There are several natural tidal pools scattered up and down the region, cliffs and great hiking if you are the exploring type. For nominal fees, we can take our guests to explore a couple local volcanoes, the city of Leon or even check out the nightlife in Leon or Managua, if that’s your style.

At the end of your adventure we will make sure you get to the airport in time and comfort. If that sounds like a good surf trip to you then your next step is to go ahead and send us an email!
